Will these speakers fit my doors?

Was looking at a set of a/d/s 336i 6.5" speakers. Specs say their mounting depth is 2 7/16”. Will they fit?

I had the Bose system if that matters... replaced that isht toute suite tho.

Sounds fine. Why do you think they won't?

Use mdf baffle rings to mount them either way.

I'm concerned about the depth. When I check out what fits my car on Crutchfield.com, a lot of the stuff that they say will fit seems to be "low-profile" -- like if a speaker comes in two versions, one low-profile and one not, they say only the low-profile version fits.

if it doesn't fit, make some MDF mounts to raise them off the sheet metal a bit. my Bostons were mounted on a 3/4" MDF ring.

Thanks guys.

In case I can't get the a/d/s speakers, any opinions on the Polk db675?

I should probably list my system thus far while I'm at it:

HU: Sony CDX-F5700
Amp: Clarion APA450 (50w RMS x4)
Fronts: Rockford Fosgate P162S components
Rears: Pioneer TS-A6981R 4-ways
Sub: JL Audio 10w7, DEI amp on the way

Right now it all sounds too shallow and tinny. I prefer the warmer, richer sound of my Pioneers over the ridiculous brightness of the Rockfords, but I want more detail than both.

Older, US made a/d/s's sounded really nice but lack a lil midbass, the new stuff is junk. I'm not a fan of polk either (although the momo's are nice).

You should talk to Don about some rainbow SLC coaxials.

Who's Don, and can he cut me a deal? A quick Google search shows those speakers to be a little out of my price range for now...

Don is Pearl96Max. He's an authorized dealer and installer for many brands of mobile electronics.

PM him and I'm sure he will work something out for you. He's located in Central Jersey (Edison, about 1.5 hours from Philly)
