I've had good luck selling books on there...but the prices are not much cheaper than my local bookstores actually.

lucky you. Our bookstores kill us with prices, both sales and buyback.

for example. a book at the bookstore was $90(new). bought it off half.com at 70(new). used it for a semester. bookstore was offering $40 to buy it back. sold it on half.com for 65 at "like new" condition

thats just the regular books.

ive heard pretty crazy prices from my roommate who is a genetics major (pre-med)

I guess due to my major the books are cheaper all around...Gen Ed books killed me years ago though. So sell some books Gordon for the rainbows.
