crossover in door wiring. Please help.

I am installing component speakers in the doors of my 98 non bose. I am mounting the crossover on the door and need to know if I should use the wire going to the old 6.5" speaker and run it to the crossover input. The tweeter and woofer have the same color wiring. Do I need to cap the old tweeter wires. Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can use the factory wire as the input for the crossover.

By cap Im assuming you mean like cover so no ends touch anything...Yeah, if any speaker wires touch each other, or bare metal, bad things happen.
