5th Gen stock radio install help plz

Right now I have a Clarion head unit installed, but it's busted so I want to send it to a shop or to Clarion for service.

Now, I was trying to reinstall my stock head unit but for some reason I'm having trouble. I guess the biggest problem is is that I'm pretty new to audio electronics, but I'm also pretty cheap and I don't want to send it to a shop for the replacement. I tried simply hooking up the wires to their corresponding plugs in the back of the HU but I think I may be missing a plug that is in the shape of a circle (light a cigarette ligher element). I tried searching for info on how to reinstall the stock HU but I couldn't find much help for a relative novice.

Is there any write-ups or diagrams on what goes where on the stock HU? Also, does anyone know where I can get a Clarion HU repaired or should I just send it back to Clarion (not under warranty)? Thank you.

I'm not too sure if youre talking about the antenna wire, the cable thats small and has two prongs that plugs into the small little hole in the stock head unit, if you are, then chances are, after the install of your aftermarket headunit, the installer had to use an adapter to use the diversity antenna for the new h.u., what you have to do is unplug the adapter, and you'll see the original plugs, and that should go into the stock h.u. without any hassle. I hope that answers your question.

Of the two black slots and the two white slots, which one powers up the stock HU?

You're not going to get power unless the HU is mounted to the brackets and brackets are mounted, or the antenna is hooked back in.

Floating ground FTL

Oh yea, and like snair said, remove the antenna adapter. and the wire will then fit into your factory HU.

I just finished reinstalling my stock HU. It turns out that you were right, all I had to do was unplug the adapter and insert the original plug. Also, there were alot of wires that were cut/spliced in order to install the aftermarket HU and I simply (well not really THAT simply) had to reconnect them to the adapters that go into the original HU.
Anyhow I did it! Thanks guys!

Hey guys, installing new double din Pioneer DVD this evening into my 02 GLE...and I have no video. Sound is there, but the stereo is a dvd/cd touchscreen player, and theres no video on the screen. The touchscreen works and all even though the scren isnt coming on. I see your comment about a floating ground, are you saying I have to get the antennea adapter and plug the antennea in for this screen to come on? thanks in advance

Can you do me a favor and take a picture of the smaller of the 3 plugs (narrower and doesnt get sit next to anything, just by itself on the lower row) ??

There is a brown/white wire that is part of that harness and it controls the trip odometer...Mine got pulled out and I dont know which hole the brown wire is supposed to be in.
