2002 max audio questions....

I want to take out the factory sub and put something else in the trunk with an amp, but I dont want to get rid of the factory head unit. First does the factory bose have a RCA outputs? if not than is there a way to hook the new amp up with the wires that go to the factory sub? Thanks any suggestions are appreciated. Greg

You can buy a LOC and use that to get signal for the amp. Then just run power ground and remote to the amp and hook it up to the sub. LOC = line output converter.

You don't even need the LOC.

Where in Philly are you located?

True I guess you could splice RCA's into the signal wires.

You can save yourself the $100 and just splice.

edit: I'm in the Philly area quite a bit...right around 42nd and baltimore.

Whoa, Please do not spend $100 on an UN NEEDED "kit". It is an absolute waste of money when a cheap set of RCA leads can simply be spliced in.

I'm not sure where I would need to splice them into... Is there a write up?

42nd and baltimore, huh? Not far from Hospital of the Universiy of Pennsylvania where I work.

Any advice for the non-bose system?

Is it possible to mount components inside the stock a-pillar speaker holes?

Yes, components in the stock A-pillar location is fine.

You should be able to post a new thread.

I spliced into the harness going into the amp in the trunk. I got the wiring colors off the Owens Family site. Anyone know the link? I ran power from the battery and ran a short ground wire. ( don't use the factory ground in harness, you'll get nasty interference) Everything wire you need to do 1 or more amps is in that harness including the remote wire for the amp on/off.
SUPER EASY INSTALL!!
