Jeff and I both have that gap in the GXE kit.

I did this a while ago....
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~nbalani...g/CIMG1030.JPG

But the glue didn't hold and the GXE didn't sit quite right.

Planning on getting some more ABS and taking care of it for good in the spring.

Jeff, I'll get yours too.

Parag post a pic of your gap.
All it takes is a slice of ABS plastic.

Manny, how do you like the Panasonic HU?
Any pics? What's gonna be fglassed?

Just glassin the gap..then getting custom cut brush alum trim to frame it like rest of my kit...this unit does not have a trim ring, so not only do i have a huge gap above, but a good 1/4" on both sides(bottom is flush tho)

This HU is amazing...the top end is very sweet- i def gained greater depth and space around the instruments...as good as the Eclipse was to me, theres no comparison. Both playing flat , no eq the Pany walks all over the Eclipse IMO. Def no gimmick, this HU is all audiophile grade business. I've never been so happy and enjoyed listening to my system as i've been past few days. I was stuck on rt18 in traffic today and every dude driving a truck or suv was jocking the unit.. ..haha whether they know anything about caraudio or not they can tell it was som'n special, nothing ordinary..

I took some pics, but my USB cable is MIA...will pick one up in the morning and post pics although dash aint looking the prettiest with trim missing, gap and whatnot..

I attempted getting custom aluminum dash kit cut, didn't turn out that great. Hopefully yours will turn out better.

Can't wait to see the finished product, and most especially can't wait to hear it.

Keep the GXE the way it is, use some ABS like how I filled in my gap in the pic a couple posts up?

Won't be GREAT, but not bad. And I know the dash kit makers make the trim for the GXE, that's for sure.

I told you that I can have it done. The place is local as well. Dont you remember the AVN that I did for an Acura CL? Had to modify the dash kit a bit, then had the trim piece made to fit perfectly and match OEM...

True, but the 5th gens. do have some advantages.

The last time I visited Don I did get the opportunity to see a 5th gen. setup he did with the Eclipse head unit mounted behind a fake stock face plate.. which was totally
