Choices...Choices....

I'm looking to get some new speakers soon, hopefully for my birthday. I want to do components in the front and regular in the back. I'm not sure what to get tho...I'm really torn because I want good quality at affordable price. Looked at Alpine, Polk, and I'm open to suggestions...someone please help me out!

I would take the total budget for the front and back speakers and put it all towards the fronts for right now. Then when you get a little more cash, and if you feel the need, get some speakers for the back.

As these guys said, amount of $$$ is necessary for a recommendation. Next contact Don (PearlMax96) and see what is within your budget .

Woah man...not sure my budget. I've found different prices at different sites so I dont know what to tell ya for budget. Wasnt aware that I needed an amp for the components (not too good with audio) either. Just figured I didn't need it since my bose already has the tweeters up front. They are blown so should I go with those seperately? That was my other attack. Two sets of regular speakers then buy seperate tweeters for the front...I'm sorry this is so much info. Anyways....budget just for speakers would be...$300-$400

Components is technically whats already up front. You would be replacing them with a full new set. Mids and tweets with a passive crossover.

Coax + tweets...nono

An amp is exactly "needed" but it will make a world of a difference with it, also minimizing the risk of blowing your new speakers due to the high distortion a HU would produce along with its lack of power.

$300-400 is a very good budget for all your speakers. Im sure I can put something together to make your ears tingle a bit.

What names should I be looking for? I don't know which names are the best. I've found some good deals on etronics but I'm not sure what I should be looking for? And what exactly is the difference between 2-way, 3-way, 4-way speakers...?

2 way could be your component set (Tweeter and mid woofer) Or it can be a coaxial with a woofer with a tweeter usually in the center of the speaker.

3 way could be a mid woofer tweet and midrange, or a woofer with a small midrange and tweet on the middle (coaxial three way)

etc
