It would definitely void your warranty, if any.

I would not try it, not worth giving up the warranty if still in effect.

It's been done on other head units, but you really need to know what you're doing before trying that. Good luck! Could be cool when done, but yeah, bye bye warranty.

And, maybe I'm wrong but typically when I think about the board of a HU, the LED's are surface mount square type diodes, not the bulb looking items we are accustomed to looking at. May make create mounting and space issues.

there should be small enough LEDs for em eh? in anycase ,the wiring is prepped for DVD while driving whenever i add it ... doesnt that procedure already void the warranty? ..in any case yea its not something that can be easily replaced but it was just a thought. wondering if anyone else has tried... i guess the blue buttons on the D1 should match ok with the blue LED swap and the green keys will stick with the time pod display as well as the display on the AC ... id defiantely want it to look more uniformed but its definately too risky

If you prepped the unit for DVD playback using the internal solder method, then yes, your warranty is void.

Yes, it's certainly possible, assuming you have the proper sized SMD LEDs and the skill to desolder/solder that size component. Greens will typically be slightly lower forward voltage than blues, but you'll be okay for this swap... it's the blue for reds and vice versa that make things more complicated.

I had GEC re do all my interior gauges on my 6th gen to wht and blue (the orange had to go!). They are all the little square ones. I have the N2 as well and the greens do stand out a bit!
You might ask him...GEC
