Gauging Interest on Rainbow Soundlines Group Buy!

Well I just spoke to "The Don" and he said if we can get at LEAST 10 people the price will be $220 shipped for Rainbow Soundlines. If we get over 15 the price might even drop a little more. Post up any questions or if you want to be in on the Group Buy.

You must be confused, the rainbow soundline is a comp set not a sub. You should just stick to your sony xplod 6x9's. and infinity coaxials run off the HU. you wont understand the intricicies of a real front stage

haha those people who run that would be making a very very wise decision to get some Rainbows.

I'm not even gonna lie..i never heard of the rainbow soundlines but they must be a good pair of components if it's gonna be offered as a GB... if they are (specs or a website plz?) I'm interested... I would need 2 sets altogether.. for my fronts and rears

the slc265 is the full component set: 2 tweeters, 2 mids, 2 xovers per set. this is what the GB is for.

IMO these will sound better because from the MBQ's I have heard are too harsh. Other people can chime in too though...

I owned a set of MBQ Premium lines a few years ago and currently own Rainbow Profi's. The Rainbows absolutely kill the MB's the MB tweeter was way to harsh and after some extended listening at somewhat loud volumes my ears would hurt bad the mid bass was ok but nothin great. Where as with the Rainbows the tweeter is very warm and smooth it does lack some detail because it is silk (not sure what the sound line comes with), but it is nothing that would keep me from not getting them again, the mid bass is very powerful enough that it could knock you over (I had to eq mine down some).

I know that I dont own the sound lines but this will give you some what of an idea as to how they size up with MBQ

Will these fit in the factory location of a 2001 SE without bose? The stock components sound terrible.

Yes, they will fit.

But I don't suggest powering them with the Bose amp.

$219.99. JK ask the man about that. Most of us don't live so close to him.

Nismos14- I'm sure Don won't mind if you are in but cannot pay immediately because you live so close to him.

This is a really nice price for these. I've found the Soundlines compare to many $3-400 sets out there. I wont list any names to avoid hurting any feelings.

The silk tweeter is very nice and detailed. I wont say like skier that they lack detail because they are a silk tweeter, i would say thats a poor choice of words- but yes compared to a metal tweeter it may have less high frequency extension- it is in fact very detailed compared to other more laid back silk domes. I would describe it as airy and fast, with smooth high frequency extension-and that indeed makes for great listening

The midbass on this set is very natural in tonality (paper cone),
and offers great 'kick' in the midbass as well ...in its price range.

BTW in European competition a vehicle equippe with Soundlines beat a vehicle running $1000 Focal Utopias in SQ points. Just to give an indication of the quality of sound and potential of this speaker when used properly.

BTW I reccomend anywhere between 70rms-125rms per side of real power- the more you lean towards the
~100+ rms you get better midbass impact and dynamics .

Can you guys start a name list, then Ill move this to the GD section. Theres no reason why this wouldnt be a go as alot of people are showing interests, especially after only a few hours of being up.
