eh it is less because orgers don't pay full retail unless you are Avi. it is around $260 plus tax normally which is still a good deal considering the only other place that sells them charges $299 plus shipping.

It's a 4 channel amp. If you run all 4, then the fronts just wouldn't be getting as much power.

Why not bridge the 4 channel and run the rear speakers off your HU?

sq is so subjective and obviously some brands are that much better than others but i've heard a few components powered by the nine.2 and i thought they sounded good :dunno:

be that as it may, you guys talked me into it i'm going to try to get an arc amp instead

Condition is nearly perfect. No blemishes except where the mounting tabs are, because I used screws to mount it. Warranty is still intact, I THINK it's a 3 year warranty, which means about 2 years left on it.

Don, do you have a favorite place to put these x-overs? Just in the door panel, or I have seen some people mount them by their amp? I've never installed components, but I have decent general knowledge and I'm what you might call "gifted" intellectually .....and by that I mean I used to wear a helmet daily.

If you leave the xovers by the amps you have to run 2 sets of wire to the front of the car. You can leave them in the kickpanel, and just run two sets into the door, or one into the door and the other into the A-pillar, if your tweeter is going in the A-pillar. If you put the xover in the door, you only have to run 1 set of wire into the door, but if your tweeter is in the A-pillar, you would have to run a set OUT of your door to your A-pillar.

Basically, figure out where you want to have your tweeter/woofer and go from there.

I guess I should have given some more info. They are going in the stock locations. I do NOT have Bose, but I do have components up front.

1 more thing. Since I am keeping the stock HU (for a while at least), do I need to get a Line-out Converter? Which is better, LOC or speaker level inputs?

I will be running an amp (DA D3400.4) and yes, I already have tweeters in the A-pillars.

Will the tweeters fit behind the stock grill, or will they require slight modification?

They fit, you can hot glue them in. Best idea would be to put your xovers in the kickpanels.

And you don't need an LOC. You can splice in female RCA's behind your HU.

When connecting the female RCA to the speaker output would you use a wire tap or just snipe the wire completely? I was planning on using a wire tap (easier to go back to stock-since I tend to want to get a new car every 6-8 months), but I'm not sure if it would decrease the signal strength that a complete snip and splice would give.



I know I don't NEED a LOC, but will it provide better or more balanced sound?

As long as it is a tight tap, it's fine. LOC vs tapping = no difference.

I would say just strip and splice. The wires on the RCAs are quite small, so a better guarantee would be the strip and splice. Taps will work, just a bit more touchy with staying on.
