New speakers going in today

Hey guys, just bought Alpine 17LS for the front, and Alpine 17LP for the rear..plan on putting them in today and can finally put to rest whether the 6.5s will fit in the rear doors...the 17LP are 6.5 and HUGE 6.5s if I do say so myself. And I will finally be taking out the bose

Why would 6.5's not fit in the doors? It's what every 5th gen is running.

use MDF baffles, or at the very least, reuse the plastic brackets.

I don't know why they wouldn't fit...I searched the forums with google and couldn't find any real conclusive info about the speaker size in the rear...one person came on and said that they know for sure that 6.5s fit in the rear of an 02 with bose...and another would come on and say...no your completely wrong...I tried to install 6.5s in my brothers cousins aunts max and they didn't fit...so I just said screw it and if they don't fit ill get some 5 1/4s

ok, 6.5s in back were too small, but lucky for me the alpines i bought came with an adapter to 6.75...6.75s seem to just drop in...i just had to take out the old MDF white plastic bracket thingy which just popped out easily..after I had the back speakers hooked up I realized that the speakers running off the deck could get to about 20 before they started getting distorted...same volume as the bose system...so I bought an alpine 4 channel amp....that im gonna put in tomorrow...ill give you all an update once I get that in. Still dunno if Im gonna miss that little bose sub.
