How much can the rear deck hold
Not sure if anyone can answer this but I thought I would ask anyway. I am planning on hanging two 8's in separate sealed boxes (.4cu each) from the rear deck along with an amp. The speakers themselves weigh in at 13lbs each and the amp around 15lbs. Would the rear deck hold this or would it start to sag?

Are you running IB? I am guessing they cut out the metal an replaced it with 3/4 mdf? I was also thinking I could brace it by running a wooden brace from boxes to the trunk bottom, but that's still in the plainning stages...

It's actually not MDF. It's marine grade plywood but for this conversation same difference.
The original poster has a 2005 and of course mine is a 98, but at least in my ride and a few other sedan rear decks I've looked at, most of it is think metal, not structural, and would sag/rattle. However, around the outside of the rear deck is reinforced metal.
Like in the above pic, right behind the rear seats, that second layer of metal that "squares". I would imagine that that part of the trunk would support whatever.
My rear deck is bolted through both the structural metal on the outsides and the thin stuff on the inside (with ensolite between them to prevent rattles), but of course structurally it's the outside squared double layers of metal that are really holding it.
So if you have that same structural metal there, which I'd guess you do, attach the box to that. I'm not sure, but I think each IDMAX is 30 lbs or more. If done right you'll be fine. If I may put in my $.02 though, why would you wanna go through all that trouble and still use an enclosure? IB is the way to be!

Holy crap man, what subs are you using? I still think you should be ok, you may want to make a baffle for under the rear deck to add some structural stability. It really all depends on how much of the rear deck you will be cutting.

EXACTLY, I was going to bolt to the rear deck and the surrounding square supports. The subs i want to use are ascendant audio assassin 8's in a seal box approx .4 cubes plus amp. A guess in weight would probably be approx 50 to 60 lbs, boxes, amp and speakers.

Thanks...
Should be a problem if done right. Watch out for a rattling rear deck. I'd dampen and load some stuff in there (in between box and flimsy metal of rear deck)so it doesn't flex if the baffle isn't going to attached to the whole thing. Plexi window would look cool!
