Are all capacitors created equal?

Got a headlight dimming problem and am in need of a capacitor. Problem is I do not know much about them. Can someone suggest a decent brand that work wells and won't break the bank.

Just to tell you a little about my system, I have a 600w amp hooked to a single 12, and a 300w amp for comps. My hu is a eclipse 8454 if that matters.

Thanks in advance.

Upgrade your wiring. Get a better battery. capacitors are crap. Maybe get a Batcap....

^^^Well what gauge wire do you have going to the amp? You may have to upgrade your wires under the hood also (Big Three) And possibly a new battery...

So I guess that settles that.

The big three mod it is.

As for wiring my current setup includes 4 gauge from the battery to a distrib block and then 8 guage from there going to the amps.

I heard finding a nice ground will also sometimes do the trick but it was a pain in the *** trying to find one under my seat.

How long are your 8 gauge runs, and where are your amps located?

reground the amp on the strut tower or something solid with all the paint scraped off makes sure its extremely tight and clean

There are better bolts to use than the strut tower.

Upgrade your ground from the body to the battery ground as well.

My amps are mounted under the front seats.

The 8 guage wiring are fairly short. Ones like 10 inches, and the other is like 24 inches - 2 feet.

Currently i'm grounded to a bolt that's behind the driverside kick panel. I scraped away the paint etc. and it seems to work ok. I don't get any alt whine, but I still feel it could be better. I've tried the bolt near the gas release lever as well as the bolt that holds the seat in, but those didn't work out so well.

Btw.. mounting on the strut tower.. that seems kinda far for a ground wire to go. If that's the case maybe it's better to find a ground near the back towards the trunk.
