Is 8 gauge wire enough for a grounding kit?

I've decided to build myself a new grounding kit with more wires to replace my generic eBay kit. I bought 30ft of Stinger SPRO8R wire last night, but is 8 gauge enough? (n00b) Thanks!

8 Guage is only good enough if you are using 8 guage power wire. Think of it as power in, power out. You need to atleast match the size of your ground wire to your power wire, othewise you won't benefit fully. Also, try to keep your ground as short as possible. Stick to 3 feet or less. (ensures less ground noise issues)

He's not talking about the ground to the amp though. So 8 guage is fine for a grounding kit.
