help I NEED AN AMP TO RUN 2 DIAMOND AUDIO TDXS?

ok auto maniacs! Ok i have 2 diamond audio TDXs 2ohm im redoing my system i need an amp thats atleast 1600 rms. what do you guys recommend. i was runing 1 diamond audio 1200.1 but it was not enough something good at a good price!

yeah i think i need something more powerfull! my d5 1200.1 shutting off when i had it da vol too high.

this has nothing to do with the amp...it is how it is setup.

well the amp was set to a 1ohm so a total of 1200 rms.its a mono amp so how else would i set t up. but each sub goes a min of 800 rms

Sounds like your gains were probably not setup properly.

Well I Messed Around With The Gains But No Still Had A Problem, So I Got Rid Of The Amp And Now Need A New One. What Do You Guys Think About Ma Audio,hifonics,powr Acoustiks, Or Orion Amps The Have Some Nice Mono Amps Over 1800 Rms?

The D5 1200.1 kept shutting off due to the fact they had severe thermal issues running at 1Ohm.

Why are you so eager to go with more power? Are you readin too much into the numbers on the subs perhaps?

What alternator do you have?

Definately go with one of these brands, it will be a big improvement over teh Diamond....

well i still have the stock alternator. i know it was taken and changed on th recall they alt. had by the previous owner. well im not to eager to go with more power just something that will hit these subs and not shut off.

Then your better off with a 1K watt amp anyway. High efficiency amps are your friend. Youll never see much more than that. It defies the laws of physics to do so.

I can tell you this. I have a D6 1500.1 on my pair of TDX 12"s and it isn't enough. These subs are still underpowered. If I had to do it all over again, I would have done a D61000.1 or a D61500.1 on each sub. The latter is def ovekill. Don't get me wrong, it gets down with the one amp, just falls a bit short of their capablities.

Unlike yours, it sounds like he had a first gen D5, which had a slew of thermal issues.

Thats cause your a basshead.

Like I said earlier, high efficiency amps, with decent power is more than enough. Dont ya remember I used to run these?
