Directions for replacing radio in an 03 maxima?

03 Maxima, NON bose radio, I want to install an aftermarket headunit into it. I know I need a dash kit, etc... but how do you get the radio out?
What all needs to be removed, is there a tech article someone did on this?
Should I just have it done?
Reason I ask, Im getting my wife an ipod for her bday next month, I want to also get an alpine deck to work wtih the ipod instead of the FM modulated stuff.. but we may be selling the car this summer so I want to be able to put the stock unit back in and transfer this to the new ride.
Help

Pop out the a/c vents, pop out the ashtray, remove screw now exposed from behind ashtray, pop up/out the area around the shifter, remove 2 screws behind this and 2 screws behind a/c vents that hold the entire metal bracketing in place.

Or pick up a Metra (or other big name brand) dash kit thatll have some instructions in it.

How do you pop out the a/c vents?

Will this work for the Bose units?
