What is Don's new toys???

Did I miss the postings or is Don keeping us in the dark? It's been awhile and I didn't see any pics of the new toys in the G35 or Honda.

Did the stereo meet in NJ or NY happen yet? Wonder if I can make it down from MA to check it out.

Ken

hey don would it be possible for me to get the Nak CD-400 instead of the CD-500? Cause i'm not gonna be listening to mp3s ever. Other than that, the specs are the same.

yea i know, but since i'm still waiting on the panels from that stupid guy who hasn't even shipped them yet, i figured i have some time. Can't you just send the 500 back and swap it for the 400? I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Wow a big loop going back to Nakamichi stereos! I remember those days of NAK when Tweeter use to sell it. The radio is simple looking with black face and white lighting. It's the inside that counts. Remember the home tape deck "dragon" that switches the cassette by flipping it?

Wow. I dont know you, but nothing worse than someone not following through on a deal. These arent exactly off the shelf products, they are imported into the country. Likely what Don has to ship it to them, pay a restocking fee, and pay for a CD400 to be shipped back...you are better off keeping the CD500, cause i can guarantee you no one will swallow that load. That will come out of your pocket.

All true, and end result will be a 400 that costed more than a 500.

I already paid for everything my friend, so don't jump to conclusions. I don't need to be lectured, especially from someone like you who has absolutely nothing to do with this transaction between Don and I. I want the CD500 to be replaced with the CD400, and that's final, no lectures or criticisms. I'm the client, I shelled out a ****load of money, and I decide what goes in. If you guys wanna throw a restocking fee or some other fancy word at me, so be it. But I'm the one who decides here.

Hey thats fine. If you want a CD400 @ CD500 price, not a problem. Of course now the wait will be extended as well. Restocking fee,import/export fees/duties/etc..

Dont see the point here, but your the boss...

I don't think this is a joke, and I think we should all let Don and ElVito handle their business.

Fine and dandy , i was not lecturing you-rather than pointing the obvious circumstances that apparently you did not consider....Here you are about to take a loss and a lesser product, simply to prove a point. Common sense doesnt come easy to you i take it.

Word of advice- do your research BEFORE buying something. Luckily you are dealing with a good dealer here because 'the customer is alright right' motto doesnt apply to customer ignorance. Not everyone in this kind of business will sit on several hundred dollar imported product because some newb doesnt know his knees from his elbows.

I dont speak for Don, but a customer like you I rather not have. The few bucks he'll make off this transaction doesnt outweigh the headaches.

On another note, the transaction sure is not my business- but you made it everyones by posting it public on an open forum.

It's not easy if you want to get to where he is. If you want to be like some Joe Shmoe shop it's not hard.

I see his side...but its the org audio room and we are here to attempt to help out. If he wants the other Nak thats cool. I'm sure he realized he had to pay freight, etc. but perhaps he just wants the 400 for some odd reason and if its no more $ out of pocket, why not do as he wants? In the long run he is still saving $ because he is getting a h/u that will satisfy him for years. On that note, I'd keep the 500.

But if it costs the same and the products are similar minus one function, why go through all the trouble? He'll still be able to use it for years and be happy with one added feature that he may never use.

I agree with you but im playing devils advocate. If one wants something other than what they paid for: and to fix their own mistake it costs them nothing, and to them they are getting 100% what they want, so be it.

Sorry to hear about your loss Don. Take care my friend.

If the guy want the basic model then let it be. There are always people making strange decisions in this world. We can reason or know what they are thinking but people are entitled to their own actions.

Dude, it's d'ick as hell to address something like this in an open thread when it could have just as easily been resolved via phonecall or PM. Unprofessional as hell.

Don, sorry to hear about your loss, my friend. On the flip side, you should be glad that you had so much time to have her around, my grandparents passed long ago...

Thanks guys. She passed on Mothers day at age 94. It was expected, but never prepared enough. After the funeral today I came home to read an email from my mother in FL to make things worse with information that on Monday my Uncle has now passed as well.

Certainly not a good week for me.

Wow Don.. this reminds me alot of what it was like when my niece passed away, I lost 5 people in or around the same time. I sure do know how badly you feel. Best thing you can do is just take your time with EVERYTHING you do. It's never easy to do. If ya need anything let me know.
