Hardwiring Valentine 1

Hardwiring Valentine 1
Hey guys,
I have a Valentine 1 (and a Phazer). I had it hardwired to the power line of my aftermarket Sony headunit. The stereo died, and I put in a new one. I decided not to put the hardwire there anymore. I did this because my alternator and battery are slowly dying because of all the electronics I have already (V1, phazer, headunit, gauges, underdrive pulley). I realize that the location of the V1 hardwire has little effect on the strain on the alternator, but I just don't feel right haveing it sap power from the stereo. I have the Phazer wired to the back of the front lighter plug. Currently, I have the V1 plugged into that socket, but I want to hardwire it. Where do you guys have yours hooked up?
Now that I mention it, has anybody replaced their alternator with a beffier one? I am going to have to, so I am looking for suggestions. Which one did you use, how is it holding up, and did you put it in yourself?
Thanks in advance,
Charlie

Tapping in to the power wire (red) of the stereo shouln't affect the performance of the stereo or overload that circuit. The stereo is pulling its amplifier power from the memory/ constant wire (yellow). The red wire is mostly just a signal to turn the unit on and off and possibly to power up the faceplate.

Nothing by RMR or Rocky Mountain Radar will jam laser or radar and their radar detection sucks.

Here are some videos of all RMR products not jamming anything:

I'm going to pass on that.
Sorry to disappoint you, but the POhazer DOES work. Now, maybe not all the time or perfectly, but occasionally there are 'your speed is' displays that the police set up which incorporate sampling computers for some reason. For those, this works, which implies that it works for police radar. On the other hand, I never put any faith in it, I just turn it on sometimes.
Also, there is no scientific reason/way that the Phazer would mess up the V1. If the phazer was also a detector, maybe, but it is not. It does not emit anything that the V1 would pick up. FYI
