Dash Kit for Z1?

Hi guys. Quick question; does any1 have this thing installed in their max yet or perhaps seen it in someone else's car? Im trying to find some pics of it installed in a max but can't find any. Do you think that the GXE Dash kit would provice the best fitment with this unit? Thanks.

None are going to be 100% but yes GXE would be best, with a little ABS plastic if needed.

I see. Nilesh actually answered my question in a way. It seems I have 2 choices. GXE kit would match the color but not the fitment and the scosche would match fitment but not color. Ughhh time to decide.

*EDIT* Well after looking at some pics Nilesh found for me I am going to go with the Scosche. Although the color doesnt match perfectly I really like the way it fits and makes everything flush like in this thread. Igor had the GXE before and like the scosche as well, and that's what I want, plus I get to save some $$$. Thanks guys, and Nilesh

Now any1 know of a palce to buy this cheap? Thanks.

scoshe kit feels EXTREMELY cheap compared to the GXE. i've tried both...have your dremel ready to cut out the din seperator and shave the sides as they wont' clear a double din unit that well (at least it didn't clear my avn-5435. Ebay was the cheapest place for that kit.

Thanks. Im not really crazy about ebay so I bought th ekit for $20. I gueess I will see how it feels when it gets here. I'm really dont want to have a 1/2 inch gap though with the gxr kit so that is not an option. But thanks guys. I cant believe no one came out with a kit that firsts perfectly and feels good for the maxima yet! Oh well...

A perfectly matching kit probably wont happen.

Metra hit it on the head with the 6th gen kits though.

^ Meh...they nailed it on the head for early 6th gens, but the geniuses at Nissan decided to change the dash's color/finish a bit, so its off now as you can see in the pic below...I wont name any names as to whose pic this is But look at the difference between the kit and the pocket near where it meets the console.

Don't know what you guys are talking about...

After I dremel'd the Sosche kit, it fit perfect...and the color matched PERFECTLY.

Everyone who was inside of my car thought that my AVN was a stock accessory.

The older sosche kits didn't match in color at all...the newer version like I had, did.

people contradict themselves many a times here in the audio forum.

Get an Eclipse unit instead...like the one Nilesh is selling.

You guys are funny. But yea I changed my mind a lot of times and I think in the end I made a good choice. The Z1 has everything I would want in a HU in one. Which is perfect.

Key things the AVN doesnt have is iPod integration, bluetooth and navtraffic. Otherwise I would have jumped on it in a heartbeat. Thing is I really want bluetooth because a lot of times I miss calls, and I hate wearing that earpiece. I also didnt want to have anything cluttering the Dash and wanted it to be all in the HU. I think the Z1 is sickkk.

*EDIT* Oh yea and I didnt want aftermarket initially because I thought the BOSE HU would sound good, but eghhh you guys know the rest. Plus this should be a kick*** system now. Everything Rainbow, Rainow speakers and Sub, powered by the Arc Kar. Aghh I can't wait! I'll take pics as soon as this get installed.

The Only thing the AVN doesnt have is Bluetooth. Any sattelite radio can support Nav traffic (which I hope you know comes with a monthly fee). It also has iPod intergration. So where you get your info from is beyond me, but I sure as h3ll didnt tell you that..

So pay all the money for the Arc,Rainbow,DA stuff, then sacrifice sound. Hmm whatever works for you buddy....

Yea Im done here too.. Thanks Igor that's the kit I got. Can't wait to get everything installed.

Don I think the Pioneer would provide pretty good Sound Quality, no? Maybe not as good as eclipse but it should be pretty close (Im also awayre of the 2.2v pre-out vs. 5V). I did some reading at other forums and just by specs it seems the Z1 is a superior unit.
But anyway Im done with this thread since I picked the Dash Kit. Thanks everyone for your help.
