Hey guys I am writting this thread because I have an 40 sl. I bought my car with xm. My car is silver and that black lump is unsightly to me. I see the bmw's and acura's with the shark fin looking cover. I thought about painting it to match as xm says this can be done with lead-free paint. Has anyone started making custom designed covers? If so show me where eo get it. Thanks guys I know this sounds **** I just don't like the black lump.

 

those are the actual antennas, not covers IIRC. You don't want to cover it, then you won't have a signal.

just try to mount it on your rear deck and see if you get the same performance.
