Please keep my from paying cicuit city to install my subs
I've searched the stickies, done forum searches, sent private messages to people, and everything else I can think of to try and learn how to install the PAC AOEM-NIS2 Kit, an amp, and a sub. I'm wanting to leave the bose amp and sub in place disconnected, and connect my amp and subs instead. So far, I have failed to find any write ups as to how to get behind the stock stereo or how to run wires to/from that area. I'm about at my wits' end, but I figured I'd ask for any (preferably 5th gen specific) help on this install.
I think I understand the wiring situation: http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-...de.html?page=3, but that isn't maxima specific and I don't know what problems I may run into using that method. If anyone has suggestions in the wiring department I'll take any help I can get.
I have never done any kind of installs like this before and don't have a place to start. Any help is much appreciated.
If I do end up doing this myself, I will be sure and document the process and publish a write-up on the topic, but I have to learn this stuff myself before I can write it up!
Thanks.

Lol I see we're the same age, well I didnt have any time to hook up the stereo and also didn't know how. I'm not really in a position to learn how right now, so I saved up $250 and had circuit city install everything (amp, headunit, speakers, components, sub, ipod adapter).

Pulling the center console etc... is really easy on a 5th gen. I just did my whole setup this weekend including the PAC SWIX controller. Pretty easy to do once you get the center vent assembly out.
Step 1
Pull the center vent above the radio out. You will have to pull up toward the mirror really freaking hard! I mean use all your power. It will feel like you are going to break it but you wont.
Step 2
Remove the Ashtray Cup...then look in the ashtray and remove the single screw.
Step 3
Take a small screwdriver etc... (Becareful not to scratch the console) and pry up along the back edge of the console around the shifter. (Not the shifter plate but the console surrounding it. Pry up the edge and get your finger under there. Pull up and it will come free.
Step 4
Remove the four bolts holding the iso bracket on and remove radio etc...
Running wires is really easy to. Just pry up the trim pieces around doors. They just pop up.
If you still need help, hit me on the PM.

whoo .. alright
I got the stereo and climate control unscrewed, but now cannot get the white plugs out of the back to install the pac adapter.
I guess the next question is - after I get the adapter installed, what wiring needs to be done? I have this wiring kit, but don't know how to run the wires where they need to go. I can run the wires down the length of the car, but can't figure out how to get the wires from the stereo to the sides of the car, from the stereo to the battery, or from the sides of the car into the trunk. Again, any help would be appreciated.
I also posted in the regional forums hopefully I might get help from there as well.

Not against you personally, just laughing at the comment. I dont know you or your capabilities. The statement of "I know what Im doing" Because "I am the install lead at best buy" was what I found funny.
