Has anyone been able to....

Has anyone here installed an aftermarket deck on a 5th gen max, and still maintained use of the factory sub/amp?

Anyone have ideas / suggestions as to how this can be accomplished?

Thanks.!

Simple answer is no. In over half a decade of the 5th gen being out, 16,334 threads and 136,587 posts in this forum alone, no. No one has ever been able to accomplish this.

Nah, man. This would require an advanced degree in electrical engineering to even BEGIN working on this. The factory sub/amp is a HIGHLY complex peice of electrical circutry with an XBL3 generation motor that utilizes some of the most advanced electrical networks introduced to date. You'd be hallowed as a true genius were you ever to accomplish such a feat. I'd be willing to pay you $100 if you were capable of doing so - I cannot imagine any sbwoofer being superior over the OEM one.

You should be so lucky that Metal did the research for you to find you the EXACT number of threads/posts on this topic.

Well...I couldnt differentiate the sarcasm from the truth..
so.. if it hasnt been done before...
It has now.

I have an aftermarket dvd unit - with the factory sub working fine and sounding better than ever.

If its been done before (likely I'm guessing..) then ignore this..
if not, then take note that it can be done..

Cheers..
