^^^Lol....I think he wants more SPL, in turn more slopiness....
I dont understand though. From what I see there are three phazes in life of car audio. 1. SPL. Your young and wanna rumble the crap out of everything 2. A little older, you realize that you want to be loud but you also want to hear MUSIC. Im here 3. SQ. Your in your thirties and have lost some of your hearing from past experiences. Your work hard for your stereo to sound GOOD.
Black max, STOP, Your going backwards!!!!

I really liked my old Kicker ZR and ZX amps, the ones from around 1997 or so. Those things kept going for many years .

aaron work your way towards a new amp. Ill gladly help you tune it. However if your box was built incorrectly, your sub will never sound right. Bass is 90 % in the box design, 10 % in the sub it self...

I have the same sub as Black Max (aaron)
My sub does clip a little. On some songs.
I have my gain at 75%ish ( I watch the volume like a hawk )
Mine doesn't sound too bad. But for some reason Aaron's sounds better on some songs. Umm...I also have a ****ty *** hell box...first time making one...what can i say..

It is your amplifier that is clipping. If you hear this noise you need to readjust your gains asap.

Do it right or you'll be buying another amp just a year down the road.
I"m not as crazy as some of the guys here, but I've always found that if I $50-$100 less than what would be most practical or ideal then I'll end up spending 2x that much a few months down the road to get what works best.
My advice to you is to get a new quality amp with sufficient power for your sub and then see how it sounds. Maybe take someone up on their offer to check out your box and do some tuning.
