Potable NAV question

On these portable units with the built in maps, namely the Sony na-v70, can the built in maps be updated at all? This is a decision making question.

Yes they can be updated.

However, traditionally Sony hasn't been as friendly with these types of updates. Personally, I'd look at the TomTom units. They have a common map set and focus on customer service.

see, the sony is a reasonably priced unit, with a classy looking chassis. the others i looked at look like toys. :-(
