Amp under rear seat
Amp under rear seat
Anyone tried this, when I installed my system I screwed the amp into the back of the seat, but it always manages to come unscrewed...would it get too hot under the back seat??
Yes, there is a big possibility that the amp would overheat under the rear seat as there is not air flow between the cushon and the floor. If the 5th gen is anything like the 4th gen, then the back of the seat in the trunk is sortof like cardboard/plastic. That would explain why your amp falls out. Try building a wood piece to sit flush against the rear of the trunk. Then bolt the amp on to that piece of wood.
Yeah, you can get a scrap piece of board, some adhesive, and couple feet of carpet to match your trunk. Then you can wrap the board and mount your amp on it. That's what I did for my gen 4 max. Let me know if you want pics and such for the install.

The fronts atleast have 5-6" room under the seats and an A/C vent right there as well.

i do...if you set the ac to the floor it will put air out of the vent. In my passenger seat you can stick your hand in the upper left corner where the vent is and feel the air coming out.
