I installed my new Pioneer Premier 780MP this weekend.
I did not add any amp for the speakers yet but it's comming.

I have an amp and a subwoofer in the trunk, plus Infinity Kappa's all around.
Sound is great. I like how my now fully integrated XM radio sounds. The HU is very flexible and it offers a lot of options. One problem with it, the interface is not very user friendly. It takes time to get used to it. Older models had better interface. (but less options and worse screens)

I also added a PAC-SP adapter with wired remote control option. It works great.....except that the HU makes a beep every time i touch the volume or source settings on the remote. I wish i could disable this beep somehow.

This unit is an absolute improvement over the stock HU. My first impressions are great.

I used Metra dash kit to install it. I don't mind the black color and i really like the way it goes around the HU.

Since i used the Metra kit, now i have a 5th gen GXE 2DIN dash/vent kit for sale + 4th gen 1DIN dash pocket with door. Both are brand new. If interested, i've posted them for sale in the 5th gen classifieds forum.


Next step is.....find a decent 4-ch amp for the speakers.

There isn't a way to disable the beep? There usually is...

 

Mine beeps when I turn up the volume or do anything, it doesn't bother me at all. No defeat/disable feature.

 

Yeah...i tried everything, even read the manual - no way to stop this beep. I'll get used to it. Beep is there only when i use the remote control - both - the IR one and the steering wheel one. Oh well....it's not that bad.

Hopefully, Pioneer will not make their units even more complicated in the future and they will improve the user interface a bit.
