Do amps and subs have to be the same brand?

What other products have you used to fairly compare?
In a Retail world Memphis is close to the same lines as JL is, so Im not sure I understand the not 'breaking the bank" part...

THAT is what he was talking about? OMG!
It has absolutely Nothing to do with what I sell. If you look a post or so below this I just suggested going with ID subs, I however dont sell ID. So check what you post before doing it please.
Yes I absolutely do. For money? No simply because the products that I carry are in their own upper tiers. Every single line I deal with/carry has been researched and carefully selected prior to taking the plunge.
Where else can you find
Morel
Dynaudio
Arc
Genesis
Rainbow
DLS
Nakamichi
etc
all in one?

sterling, you might as well quit while you're ahead, because you won't win this argument. Not just because Don is the moderator, so don't go there. But as a dealer, common sense would tell you that the owner of a shop needs to stand behind the products he carries 100%, and not carry products with which said shop will lose their @ss with warranty work. This has been said on many other forums and not by me, but Don isn't going to give you different answers or treat you differently when you buy a $100 set of coaxes instead of a full system. Im not saying this to look like a nutswinger, but I know Don isnt going to give props to himself because thatll make him look like a douchebag, which isnt the case. But instead letting you know that most of the time, Don recommending a product is simply to give the customer the best result in the end. As an installer myself, nobody likes to see a customer back frustrated that they need to upgrade, because they didnt buy the right **** the first time.

I never said they wernt good lmao haha but in any case i have no need to argue but a man has to rep what he sells its just bad bussiness otherwise.

if you can afford it sure but a better bet is prb the jlw6 version 2.
wedge boxes usually dont sound all that great either might want to change that up a big part of a sub is the box design hence why I am getting a custom enclosure built for my 15 curently.

the catch is that the cone has a slight tiny crack in it which does not affect performance according to JL. I was going to replace the cone but JL said it does not affect the performance at all.
nismax heres the thing. If you plan on upgrading i suggest you find a flexible amplifier. That will suit your ohm needs. Certain amps NOT many can do full power @ 1-4 ohms such as the JL amplifier, and the older phoenix gold amps like the xenon, and tantrum. If you do plan on upgrading your subs purchase an amp that will suit you the best with what you have now and something that will leave you room to upgrade so you dont have to purchase another amp, good luck!
I had planned to purchase a JL 250/1 one which I have researched to be the best amp for the 10wo subs I have. I'm just starting to build my system in my 02 so I figured this would be a good start. I currently have a Kenwood radio and hope to add infinity reference components. I just thought the JL 250/1 was out of my price range and thought you guys could give me an alternative amp for the 10wo's in the price range of $200-250.
on the side of the box it has a sticker that says 2 ohm. I attached a link.
the box i have looks like the one in the link except its an older model with
10wo's
