I just wanted to know what some other I30 owners have done to their cars. I just got one and I am looking to replace the factory cd unit but I've noticed that most of the double din cd units I have seen really suck. So let me know if you recomend a double-din unit. Also Im looking to get one of those 15" kicker square subs so if anyone knows where I can get one for a good price holla at the kid. thanks.

You can't just replace the deck and leave the Bose speakers because it wont work. The resistance of the Bose speakers are something like 1/2 Ohm. If you want to cahnge the deck, you have to change all of the speakers too

would you suggest that I keep the factory deck in for awhile but replace the bose speakers, then get a new deck? I have my eye on the polk/momo component speaker system to replace the speakers in the front.

That is wrong. You can change only the HU and continue to use the Bose speakers. You have to use an adaptor for the HU, but it's been done a million times. The HU doesn't care about the ohm load of the speakers (which is 1 ohm) because the HU doesn't power the speakers.

Only go with a double din if you have ALOT of tapes in your collection. Otherwise go with the "pocket" underneath the indash cd player you want to get. Look into the Eclipse or Alpine cd players. To keep your Bose speakers look into the Soundgate/Bose adapter available for your I30.

Might I suggest that instead of going with the Polks, (overpriced, and they're still Polks) Go with a little better brand for around the same price. The Momo's are for looks, and since you won't be able to see them, looks don't matter. There are much better brands out there at the same price.
