Satellite radio question

I read the sticky on install and a few other threads but my question is this.
I have the standard factory radio with the single cd player. Will this display the song name etc or do you have to have the Bose system to get that. I read where Grubbs is the best place to buy the equipment from so I will be contacting them for the parts. Also, how do you know if your car is prewired for sat?
Thanks for any answers!

quickest way is to go to your driver door, open it, on the back of the door catch (not the door itself, on the body), you'll see a sticker that says "PREWIRED FOR SAT" ... also, i think if you have a "SAT" button, it means you are prewired... but i'm not 100% on that...

No, having the SSAT button doesn't mean that you are prewired... it just means that your radio has the connection for SAT but it doesn't necessarily mean that the connection between the radio and the rear of the car was pre-wired.

Also, I may be wrong, but don't you have to have the 6 CD changer Bose to have OEM SAT radio? I didn't think that the other radio option allowed for that.

And where do I look to find the cable for the sat receiver in the trunk?... Just found out that my max was prewired!

Yeah, the end of the cable should be tucked up under the rear deck somewhere. You'll have to remove the trunk liner to get to it.

I'm still not sure if your radio (you have the non-Bose, right?) will work with SAT... so I'd double check.

OK, I checked. On the door jam it says I'm prewired. I just have the standard radio. Will it show the song titles on the radio display or just the channel?

I'm not sure how the standard radio works with SAT. Sorry. Maybe someone else has done this?

Hopefully someone out there has done this.
