Anyone post pics of a single sub, space saving setup?

I am kindof getting into the car audio thing again after being out of it for like 5 years. I want to put a single 8 in my car somewhere. Weight and space are an issue. I want it to be a setup that minimizes both.

I saw a pic in another thread of a guy who stuck an 8" freeair mounted right where the rear armrest passthrough is. Anyone else have pics of a setup such as this, or any other setup that minimizes the space required?

the only real way you're going to save the most space is by makeing a small fiberglass box in your trunk, or installing it infinate baffle in the rear deck. Check out Image Dynamics for some good IB subs.

a small 8, such as the Sound Splinter RL-i 8, only needs .2 cu ft sealed. Build the enclosure out of 1/2" birch, and you'll have a very small box/sub combo, that will sound good, and won't weigh a lot.

One of my previous setups. Didn't take up that much room, looked decent too.

You could do some free-air 8's in the rear deck. At one point I had an RF hx2 10 in a small sealed box. Cut away some of the extra metal on the driver side rear 1/4 panel in the trunk and stuck the box in there, it fit very well, and was light and I still had nearly 99% use of my trunk space.

I got ED 7's in the rear deck. If I were to do it again. I would get ID or even Kicker 8's in the deck.

Rear deck OR fiberglass are going to be good ways to go. I would also recommend the infinity basslink which has been regaled as one of the most space-conscience sub/amp combos available.

Not all amps will be so tolerant of being mounted upside down...

Looks great I wish I still had my ts-w203f's. Solid performers, and right now they'd be perfect to go in my rear deck. Oh well, I'm sure the dls 8's will peform much better.
