Electrical experts!!! Urgent Help needed!!
Over the weekend, I installed a 9006 HID kit into my friend's 8th gen Civic. Because it is his car, I wanted a fail safe installation and wiring, so I told him to order a new relay harness to run the HID kit. The kit came in today, and we installed it. The relay harness consists of a SPDT 4-pin relay at 12V rated at 30A. It essentially plugs one side into your factory low/high beam for signal, then takes power from the + terminal directly, sends it to the new 9006 socket which plugs into the HID kit. BUT, the HID kit does NOT turn on!!! The highbeam works flawlessly during testing. When we turn on the low beam, you can hear the relay click. I think it maybe because the relay is not allowing enough power through to start the HID kit maybe? Since it is rated at 30A only, ideas? Opinions? Help!!!
Well the relay and socket comes pre-assembled, so I don't see how I could've possible connected it wrong. It has a total of 6 plugs, a 9006 and 9005 to factory plug, new 2x 9006 to HID kit, 2x 9005 to highbeam. The new 9006/9005 soockets have individual ground wires for the body or - terminal.
