hey all just installed a HU my friend gave me but the thing is, instead of music, all i hear from the speakers are loud scratching and popping noises. i now its not my speakers because my other HU played perfectly fine. my friend said it might be that the internal amp has blown, is this correct?

 

possibly. did it make the popping noise when he had it in his car?
