Have them in my 05, running two in IB mounted under the rear deck firing into the cabin and they sound awsome. However I did at one point have them in a sealed box in the trunk, could barely hear them so it depend on how you want to install it. In box in trunk not good, on rear deck love em... Oh and i have them power from a Polk Momo 300.2. I did not really seal up the trunk just plug up the holes on the rear deck with dynamate due to the fact I still need the rear seats to fold down. If I had to do it again, I would definitly buy them...

Nice, IF I were to venture towards them I would be using them IB. Anyone else?

Also, -Sin- have you used any other subs previous to these?

I've only had JL prior to these, always in a sealed box and bigger in size too, 10s and 12s. Overall I am happy with the assassins but they can't compare to overall volume of bigger subs. But these do sound much better in SQ than the JL.

-Sin- How would you describe the capabilities of the 8's in getting LOW, and hitting the deep sub bass that most of us are probably accustomed to?

Juan, check PM

The lows are tight and quick, really nice. I was impressed with the performance especially for the price. I would pick it up again for twice what I paid. I also ran a test cd when I first put it in and if memory serves it hit 20hz but I really did not have anything tuned at point.

this is the wrong forum to look for in depth reviews of anything AA except the ava 15. Those subs for the price are worth it IMO...they did decent in a comparison test some known audio heads did on ca.com

Looks like thats the manufacture's spec but I would say in the range from 200 - 300 should be sufficient and the limit.

I wouldnt run that much but they will fail mechanically before thermally. Keep the box size to spec and it should be fine. It will be just as loud with lets say 250 watts and does not need the full rms. its an 8" driver.

So you are running two mounted under the deck. Did you have the Bose setup with the sub in the back deck or did you just add the two Assasins? How do you guys think one mounted in the rear deck replacing the bose would sound. Also replacing the bose amp and head unit with a pioneer premier. What would be a good amp to drive this sub?

Are these subs free air subs and would they be good to replace the Bose sub in the back deck?

the more airspace...the easier the sub "moves". so keep it to spec or SMALLER.

They can be used IB, Sin is using them in that form on the rear deck, and that is also the way I plan to use them.

they should be good. thats what i'm plannign on doing, but not any time too soon- you will most likely deal with some rattling, as the back deck is notorious for this so be prepared to deal with that.

I already have 2 8's on the rear deck now, I know all about rattles. I will be powering these with about 180 watts rms wired in mono.

I had 6x9 back there before and remove those, made a mount out of MDF and bolted it up. NO modifications to the rear deck what-so-ever. 1/4 mdf on top 1/4 and 3/4 in MDF below. The mdf did not span the entire rear deck only the area around the subwoofer.

I get no rattling from the back deck, only in the rear view mirror. But I did used dynamate to the rear deck. Wrapped all wires in the rear deck and doors in stickyback felt. As well as placed the same on any items that may rattle. So no rear deck rattle, but I do have a rear view mirror that rattles, something inside i can't get to.

I am running a polk momo 300.2 rated at 150 but birth sheets states somewhere in the 2s.

Sin do they seem like they are asking for more power at this point or is the 200ish more than sufficient?

Well, I had it hooked up to a PG 600.1 with a birth sheet of 830s they had no problem with that. I have had the Polk maxed on gain and sub gain on the radio itself turned up for a test and I heard no signs of mechanical failure. So IMHO I feel they can take more. But 200ish is nore than enough to get it moving and was perfect for me. I also had to put bumpers on both front and back license plates due to vibration. Just remeber these are not tens or twelves.

Ya I'm fully aware, I've been through 10's 15's 12's and 8's and realize what an 8 can wilfully reproduce. My current 8's do sound great. I just think I want a little more ouput and these should do the trick.

They will surpass the Bose 8's without a problem.
