Not too much experience with bose 8's, but my DLS OA8's crap on them. I just hope to get a little louder and a tad bit more extension with these.

Im a newbie but can a Bose amp power these? Probably not the right ohms and how many watts does the Bose amp put out?

The bose amp COULD power them as I had the bose amp powering my DLS subs for a couple weeks. As long as their wired to 4 or 2 ohms you'll get minimal output from them. You really do need to have a seperate/dedicated amp for them though. Bose also doesn't really give out the accurate specs we'd need to know what the amp puts out. Kind of jerky.

The DLS looks nice but the Ascendant has more excursion 9mm vs 15.5mm. Should give a better kick. Give use your comparative opinion once you get them in.

for $50 you really can't beat it. But do not expect that low end of a 15 from it because it has decent xmax. However, it will do well on most rap. 4 8"s is tempting though...

Not unless I build out, but I'm sure its doable. Wouldn't want subs in my front doors then, cuz I don't plan to do kicks with the mids.

Well......

A lil update here...

So saturday I hooked up the subs, had them in an old ported 8" box that I had, and I was impressed. Running only 75 or so watts each they pounded. One thing though: I noticed that one speaker was making some noises. Something not right, maybe voice coil issue? I couldn't tell.... Called up Ascendant, at this time.

Fast forward to Monday:

Phone call comes in from Ascendant... hmmmm "Hi can I speak to Parag please?" ME "Speaking" "Hey I just wanted to let you know we got your message about the Assassin 8, and we're going to send you a new one, you don't have to send the old one back or anything. I could tell when you called that you were sincere by the tone of your voice when you left us the message." ME " Wow, really? Thanks, I noticed there was some kind of sound coming from the sub and it through me off because the other one sounded fantastic" "Ya we haven't had any returns or issues with any of the subs before, so we were kind of shocked" ME "Wow thanks, I really appreciate it"

+1 for Ascendant!

Yep...you can't listen to all the little boys on ca.com who complain and like to get attention by embellishing on their experiences with AA.

Those guys are great, they're local for me so I went over there to pick mine up. Really nice guy's, talked to Chad for almost an hour. He had some really nice home theater speaker that he made from scratch, absolutely beautiful.

They seem to be good people with a good customer service standard. They've earned my business like I said, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Do you think the 10" would be that much better?? they dont have it in stock and im not sure how long it'll take, their email service is horrible. anywhoo what do you think is an 8" in the rear deck more than enough?

An 8 in the rear would be fine. Call them up and ask them about getting a 10. I'm sure the 10 would be a bit better in terms of output, but 8 would most likely do what you want. I can't say for sure. (I would just go 8" though)

Their installed, pics and review coming soon. There's definately up with one of the DLS subs, I can hear the noise in it. The other one is fine. Kind of upsetting because there was probably more in them. Don I'll have to bring it by for warranty service.
