help running wire through firewall in a 2k2

I was going to run my system wires today, after searching threw the firewall for about 30 minutes, i found nothing.

Couldnt find a spot to run a 4 gauge power wire throught the firewall in my 2k2.

Can anyone explain to me how they ran their wires and were??

I drilled a hole above the dead pedal and ran the wire through there.

not sure if its hte same or not, but from the center of my 4th gen, where the center console lines up with the firewall (if that makes sense), look straight up, i found a hole, and drilled it out a little larger to fit my 1/0 awg. it might fit 4 awg without drilling...

theres a gromet you'll have to pull out..

I was originally going to go with one amp under the driver's seat and one amp in the trunk. I thought that would be the easiest thing instead of using a distribution block under the seat, not much room under there with the amps. Especially with the 4150. It still worked out as both amps are under the seats now .

as black max showed, there is a spot under the steering wheel where you can pull off part of the fabric and drill through the firewall without hitting anything

Look under the driver side wheel. Peal back the plastic and there is a huge groment. You can fit 4-4guage wires through it if you wanted. You may have to take the left front tire off to do it, but I think its worth it.

I drilled a hole in the plate covering the accelerator cable location. Since '02's are electronically driven, no cable. It's a PERFECT location to put the wire through. Just make sure to buy a rubber grommet to insert in hole so you do not damage the power wire. Very OEM like install.
Interior shot w/gas pedal removed...

Engine bay shot...

I'll post more tonight if I can with the 4 gauge power wire installed.

Found a spot that DIDNT requre drilling

I couldnt use the spot 96blackmax put cause i have a clutch slave cylinder there.......

So i pulled off the plastic peice under the drivers side fender and first thing i see is the groment that the stock harness goes through, i just poped a hole into its groment and put the wire throught, It came out just above my clutch pedal.

I ran it together with this black wire loomed line

I drilled a hole to the right of my gas pedal in my 2000. it comes out in a PERFECT spot in the engine bay. Passed a 4 gauge wire through.

...didn't use a grommet though...

It doesnt matter what sub your running when your determining the gauge of your power and ground wire.

It's the amount of power your amp requires that determines it.

yea u got a point there....just becasue u may have an 700 watt RMS sub, doesnt mean your amp is providing that much power

My MTX 801D runs at 250w RMS at 4 ohms... it required a 4 gauge wire.

most sub amps and sub setups, say that you should use 4 gauge wire for the mono amps

I used the same exact location for my last two Maximas (3rd & 4th gen). I saw the grommet on the drivers side and wondered how to get to it. With a little extra elbow grease (have to remove the tire) I found it, best part being you don't have to drill through metal.

I'm about to install some amps in my newly bought 5th gen, I'll take some pics then if the light's good.

Keep talking in caps and getting annoyed with users that are trying to help you and I'm sure a mod will have no problem giving you a nice vacation.

If you pull off the wheel and move the wheel liner, there is NO way you can miss it.

why dont u go do something.............. because i typed in caps, DOES NOT signify me getting annoyed. 2nd of all if NISMOS14 had a problem with it im sure he/she would have stated it. hence case, i would apologize..... NOW UNTIL THAT TIME COMES, GO DO something other than toy around with me and threating me about some mod

BTW: i want to order one of your spare tire covers

Well, instead of getting annoyed, which is clearly what you did by your tone and use of capital letters, you could read, because the information is a few posts up from your original post. Pics are not necessary: remove the wheel, remove the wheel well liner, and you will see the HUGE grommet that the entire factory harness (for the entire car) comes through.

Spare tire cover: If you want one with carpet, you're going to have to wait, the carpet is back ordered. If you want one without, I can ship asap.

You really need to change your attitude. You come in here wanting help and treat people who are coming in here to help you with an attitude. Clearly you only care about helping yourself, and not to the overall effectiveness of the community you've entered. You're actually lucky that any/most of us put up with the way you act when most forums would just flame you to death. We've answered your question and instead of using your intellect to figure it out you want to get all uppity about it. Give me a break.

Well, when you use caps, it implies something. So stop.

1. No idea how long
2. $60 shipped
3. $70 shipped

Keep in mind I'm charging you $20 for shipping, but the real cost of shipping is closer to $25. The board itself is selling for $40 picked up, $50 with carpet.
