i was interested for the future in getting one of those indash screens. 7" i believe.

my question is besides if i get a dvd player to watch dvds on it
can i:
1. have visualizations for music? (ex: windows media player)
2. get the screen to work with navigation somehow?

if so pls explain how i can do this. thanks!

 

1. the simple answer is no. it is technically possible, but it'd be a real pain to setup, UNLESS you had a carputer, and you played music straight off of winamp or something similar.
2. I doubt it, unless again, might be possible with a carputer. but i doubt it.. if you're gonna spend that much on a carputer tho, you might as well get a navi unit.

 

If you get a navigation unit that has vid outs you could.

hmm so i think all i really want/need is a headunit that has video output for the screen. i want it to play mp3s (pretty common these days) and would like dvd capability and visual effect/visualizations.

know anything that can do this?

so my plan:
buy a 7" screen for doubledin slot
below install unit that can play mp3s,dvd,and visual effects through the screen

 

You won't find a HU that has visualizations. There are only a few models that are single din with video out and play dvd/mp3, and of those, I don't believe one of them has visualizations.
