Low volume with iPod FM transmitter?

I currently have a iPod Nano hooked to a DLO Transdock Micro. Everything works perfectly, sound is decent, but the volume is really low for some reason. I have to set the volume to 15 to get the same effect as 10 on regular FM radio. Is this common with FM transmitters? Also, the mids and highs sound great, but the bass is seriously lacking, again compared to regular FM radio. Possible fix available? Thanks

Have you set the volume higher on the ipod itself?

Thats because they all SUCK! Go get any new headunit and they will have the ipod adapter and you will be so happy. I did it just for that reason and am loving every minute of it!

btw ii bought a alpine 9856 awesome for the price 199.00 has ipod ,3rca's,sat ready and even that dumb hd radio ready. Can't beat it for the price and it also upgrades the sound of your factory speakers.
