Please shorten your list to exactly what you want. Shop at your local car audio shop and let me know exactly what you want.

I was looking at these head from Kenwood because they have MP3 playback compatibility. If you know of any better heads, please recommend them.
Kenwood Z919
Kenwood Z828

I wanted some new subs for my car and the ones I liked so far were these. I am not sure of the price differences in the two Eclipse models. I just know they will hammer like crazy if you got enough power to keep them full and not hungry.
Kenwood KFC-W2503
Pioneer TS-W254DVC
Eclipse 88100DVC
Eclipse 88100.4

I need some new components for my doors. If you any other that you would recommend, please do so. I am mainly familiar with Kenwood products, but I haven't heard the ones listed below.
Kenwood KFC-P603
Kenwood KFC-P503
Boston 6.53

Do you have any stores in Georgia or North Florida?

Could you ship to another authorized Eclipse dealer and have them install the unit for me? Or, would I have to have a Tweeter store do it?

I have an Eclipse dealer about 45 miles from me, but I would love to get the discount from your store.

We have 15 stores in Georgia. My store list does not include zip codes so I'm not sure what store is closest to you. Here are some:
Athens
Buckhead
Cobb Parkway
Douglasville
East Cobb
Gwinnett
Jimmy Carter
Mall of Georgia
Northlake Festival
Roswell
Snellville
Southlake
Town Center
Macon
Fayetteville
Best thing to do is pick it up at a store near you. All of the stuff you want might cost a pretty penny for shipping and handling. Let me know what store is near you.

We do have stores in Florida under the name "Sound Advice".
I'm not sure if that region has switched over to our computer system yet. Best thing to do is go into one of those stores and find out and let me know. They are not on my phone list yet. Let me know.

Sound Advice? Sweet. I am about 75 miles from one in Orange Park, FL. Will you still be able to hook me and let me pick it up from them? I don't remember them carrying eclipse though.

C-DAWG: The Sound Advice merger just happened on July 1st. I don't think they are on our computer system yet. If you want go into one of the stores to find out when they might be on the Tweeter computer system. Once they do I'll be able to hook you up. If not I can ship it out to you.

Maximaman: I do not carry Infinity. How about JL12W3's for $159.99 each? The high to low adapter is about $25.00
If you choose an amp that takes a "high level input" the high to low adapter is not necessary. Do you already have the amp? If it does, check to see if it has the high level input feature on it.

Best thing to do is call that store to see if they have been "Tweeterized" yet. I don't have a phone listing yet for any of the Sound Advice stores.

I'm looking for a cd reciever that can read mp3 encoded discs like the cd-rw's and I was just wondering if you had anyones in your store or if you could recomend some good ones. also, one that would support the bose system pretty well would be great too because I'm still savin up for those eclipse speakers. thanks.

Yes. All you need is the Soundgate or Peripheral inverter so the Kenwood deck plays properly through your Bose system.

Can you recommend any other head that play MP3 disks?

I like the Kenwood ones and Kenwood is my brand of choice but I just wish that unit had MASK. And I mean the full motorized one, not the manual crap.

If you want one better try the Kenwood Z828. I know its not fully motorized but it has a more high tech look to it.

That is actually the one that I think that I am going to buy.

It doesn't have MASK, but you have to deal with what you can get.

Since you deal with Kenwood, maybe you can answer something for me. I have a Kenwood unit with MASK now. The problem is that the display is not showing ANY information. No names, volume levels or anything. The lights still light up on the display and the buttons do as well, but you can't see anything on the display. Any ideas?

Hold down the "MENU" button for 2-3 seconds until "MENU" pops up on the display.

Scroll up and down with the AM or FM buttons until "BRIGHTNESS" comes up.

Use the arrow keys to dim the display or to up the brightness a little bit.

Let me know what happens.

Boston RX67's are $115.00 a pair

Check your yellow wire on your Kenwood deck to see if that in-line fuse is blown (Yours may have this fuse) it is for the display check to see if it is blown, if there is no fuse on it, well, you may have to send it to Kenwood or your local Kenwood service center. You can call Kenwood at 1-800-KENWOOD Your bulbs may be burned out............

Are you talking about the yellow wire that has the little black box looking thing on it?

That should be it. There should be a tab you can slide out for the fuse, if not it's a in-line noise filter. If it's not the fuse take it to your local Kenwood service center.

oh yeah...im not sure if that is even what i need...but i hooked up a cd player like you would in a normal car..and there as no sound...it said it was playing the cd's but no sound....i tapped in the wires on the speakers and determined that it was the amps that werent clicking on...so it lead me to believe that this is the reason they make that interface..and that is what i needed...is it? am i correct with my assumption?

BEst way to upgrade Bose

I wanna dump the Bose headunit, and get a kick *** headunit, leaving the factory speakers intact. Any suggestions? From what people tell me, those adapters are crap, and i would lose the sound quality. Any Idea's??

Dave, I posted the same questions on your first thread, but that one is old and got lost somewhere so I decided to repost it here.
I'm interested in a JL Stealth box with 10" JL sub for my 4th gen Maxima. What kind of JL amp would you recommend for this sub? Money IS an issue for me at this time that's why I'm not trying to get everything top of the line.
Also, what kind of speakers would you recommend with this setup? Maybe JL or Eclipse? Do I need another amp for the speakers or I can hook everything up to one amp?

I live in Boston, MA.

Thanks
Andy

I'm currently out of stock on the Maxima/Bose interface plugs. They retail for $99.00 you can also order them at crutchfield.com. Companies like Soundgate and Peripheral carries interfaces for the Bose system.

On the JL Stealthbox (SBNMAX10W6) it's available as a special order for $399.99 and fits only 4th gen Maximas

For front and back speakers look at the Eclipse 82641's only if you plan on running deck power only. $85.00 per pair.

Thanks for the reply,

Does the sound quality degrade as I introduce these adapters for the Bose Stereo?

The adapter interface does NOT degrade sound quality at all.

Heck no. I took the deck out and checked the fuse in the back of the headunit but it was okay. The black box does not have a fuse in it.

I swear. I do not want to send that thing to Kenwood again. I got it about 2 1/2 years ago and it has been sent off twice already. The motor in the MASK mechanism messed up once and the unit just would not turn on the 2nd time.

I think that I may just have a lemon.

Best thing to do is take it back where you bought it and ask them for an estimate for repair and if it's too much, let me know and I'll hook you up on something else.

just wanted let everyone know that

maximadave not only offers great prices but also great service. i talked to him on the phone a couple of times, and he took the time to answer all my nit-picky questions. also when i e-mailed him about the status of my order, he quickly checked with his shipping department and told me exactly where my package was.

BTW, the eclipse 82641's sound great. they have smmoth and more natural sound than other speaker's. and at $80 a pair, i can't complain.

Question

Dave, Im interested in hard hitting, clean bass -- possibly 2 12" Kicker Solobaric L7s or 2 12" Infinity Perfects (depending on price) for my 96 Max -- Im in Norhtern Virginia and I think there is a Tweeter in Baltimore, MD so I could pick them up if need be. Could I get a quick quote on those items? -- If you dont carry those items, what would you reccomend in the 2 sub combo variety?

thanks
