CD Players w/ usb port

Does any one have a CD player with a usb port? I been about to die to get one since my $400 Kenwood Excelon pooped out only after a year and a half.

I decided to get on from Wal-Mart(I know,I know). A Virtual Reality brand w/ a usb port. Well it won't fit in a Max and the sound quality pretty much sucks. It was only $80. I thought there wouldn't be that big of a diference from my Kenwood to this, but there really is.

I am now thinking about getting another Kenwood w/usb from Crutchfield. It's about $180. Any experience with quality cd players w/ usb that aren't too expensive?

all the ones ive seen have worked fine.. i know clarion makes one too, look at their 2006 lineup on their website or something..

but honestly, whats the point? if you're gonna do MP3, why not just get a deck that plays mp3s?? its the same thing. just burn a cd with a bunch of mp3s on it.. can hold as much as a 650 mb USB drive, but costs a fraction less.

and another thing, if your kenwood pooped out on you after only a year, why the F get another kenwood?

not trying to be an ***, just seems silly to me. Kenwoods have been known to have problems..

The whole point of me getting a cd player w/ usb is b/c all you do is send files from your computer to the memory stick and there is no burning cd's.
I already have a 512mb stick and that can hold at least 100 songs, so it is not a choice of buying cd's or memory stick. Burning 100 songs to a cd will take a while, I've done it. If want to take off or add songs I just delete and add,not burn a whole new cd. Also, my Kenwood did play mp3.

As for brands having problems, I have already had a Clarion and it was worse. My wife and friend had one also and they were pretty bad. Isn't it the same brand that makes the head unit for Bose in the 5th gen max? My wife has had that thing replaced 3 times.

I have also had pioneer and jvc with pioneer being the longest lasting and jvc wasn't anything special. I really coudn't put a bad label on Kenwood b/c of my problem.

There are USB drives that can hold more 4.7GB not to mention they are a lot more durable than cd's and dvd's. A good chunk of them can be attached to your keychain.

lol. ive seen WAY more kenwoods come through my store with problems (that were hardly a year or 2 old) than clarions, period. Be it they just stop working, the motorized face craps out, or they just act really strange for no reason. Pioneers, ive seen them come through too not working, but they were all about 6-7 years old, go figure.

If you burn a cd and leave it open, you can add songs to it as you wish, my computer isn't all that fast and i can burn an mp3 cd in a few minutes.

either way, do what you will. the Bose HU's have problems, yes, but their a/m decks have been fine.

I am not trying to get into a "who's the best brand" because that would get no where. I am sure every brand could get a bad wrap at least from some people. I wasn't trying to dis Clarion, just giving facts on what I have experienced with them. Not that I think Kenwood is bettter, I just want a usb port and that’s it. Not that I think burning cd's is too slow, I just would prefer not to.
I have looked for Pioneer w/ usb but they don't make them, at least from what I have seen.
With that said, I was just looking for opinions and feedback on which one I should get. Has anyone actually had one?

Also, with you saying that you have had a lot of Kenwoods come thru your shop. How about much would it be to fix my Kenwood?
It does have the motorized face that will now, not fold up b/c the power will not stay on long enough. The power will come on for about 2 seconds then go off, like I disconnected the battery or some thing. Would it even be worth it to fix? Can you give an estimate on the repair cost?

Thanks….

last one that came through with the kenwood excelon where the motorized face got stuck, i think the guy paid between 100-150.

we have a private guy we deal with here in RI who's been fixing amps and decks for years, he's pretty good.. id imagine it cant cost much more elsewhere..

Yea,I was figuring it would at least cost $100. Was it something simple? I just don't understand what goes wrong so easily.
