Indash DVD fitment question, J mount?

Hey guys,
I want to get this http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jINJr8O...0&i=500DVA9860

but the site claims it does not fit my 98 maxima. So I talked to the online advisor and they say that it does not fit because the maxima takes an "I" mount receiver and this is a "J" mount. What does this mean? Can I modify something easily to make this fit? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks for any help.

Crutchfield is ridiculous. All single din decks are the same size. Whether you mount it using the cage or ISO mount it by screwing it into factory brackets just depends on which dash kit you use, whether you use a Metra 99-7417 for example (cage mount), or just a standard storage pocket below the radio(ISO mount).

I dont have this deck installed, but in all the maximas Ive done there isnt a single deck that doesnt fit (except some decks in 5th gens with Scosche kits lol)

It sounds like you do this for a living? So in your opinion I would have no trouble fitting this deck with little to no modification?

Both makdaddy386 and myself have been installing at Circuit City for 2.5 years now. Granted its Circuit City, but there arent any good shops, big or small, in Gainesville. Yes, in my opinion, youd fit it with little to no modification.

It will fit and you don't need a dash kit. You don't even need the trim ring.
