Any word on 2007 HU models?

Sorry if this has been brought up already guys, but I haven't been around in a while. Is there any word yet on the 2007 models, specifically whether or not Eclipse will come out with a unit that fixes all the CD7000 issues? Or maybe a nice affordable DVD w/ no nav. unit with active controls?

Hehe, well, let's see:

-No play/pause button for cd changer
-four-way control is finicky (sometimes I accidentally change discs when just trying to check bass or treble)
-faceplate sticks very far out of dash
-noise floor (I have a farily loud hiss in the speakers)
-steering wheel controls only work with Toyota and now Honda cars (unless I use the PAC adapter)
-user interface just not as logical as my old 9835 (maybe Eclipse can't address this one)

Some people's complaints are just stupid, like the **** is "big and ugly." I think I have some legitimate concerns...

EDIT: And I think you remember this, blackmax, but I do have the 7000, so I do speak from experience.

EDIT 2: Also, what the hell is with the volume indicator overlaying the little 'disc in' icon in the bottom left corner of the screen? A firmware update could fix this and several other issues, but Eclipse doesn't seem to care.

Not using one, but this would bug me. Also it does bug me that I cannot pause an MP3 or WMA track.

Agreed.... other settings are too easy to change.

-faceplate sticks very far out of dash
With the dash kit I am using it is not a problem. Not the nicest looking one, but does not really bother me.

-noise floor (I have a farily loud hiss in the speakers)
Me too, this was not present in my CD8454 or CD8455. One you turn the music up, or you are driving around it's not an issue, but should not be in a HU that cost this much.

Waiting for the Nissan software

Agreed, but would still rather have this unit over the 9835. I had that unit before this one.

I remember

Agree...

I am still very happy with this HU. Will keep an eye out for the newer stuff as always though......

Well I'm glad to see I'm not alone on most issues.

I guess a more specific complaint with the user interface would be MP3 disc navigation, which the 7000 doesn't seem to be very good at.

The unit is not perfect, but I am happy with it...... at least for now. Every unit I have owned always had some things I did not like on it.
