anyone use add-a-circuit ?

i was looking up ways to hardwire my radar without splicing too much, leaving a nice clean install that can be reversble at time. And i saw this nice little thing, no cutting at all or anything like that. I highly doubt my radar uses 1A of voltage to begin with so it won't pop or melt anything. Just wondering if any of you guys have used this before.

T-taps and some wire will do the same thing, for a lot cheaper.

Cheaper yes, more convenient, probably not.

+1 on what the others said. It's just a fancy fuse tap.

Also, what brand radar detector do you have? Some manufacturers have a nice "hardwire" kit that has all the wiring straightened out for you, inline fuses and all. Just tap power and ground and go.

I bought one for my Bel RX55 as I didn't want to tear my coiled cigarette lighter cord up for the hardwiring. I think it was like $10...worth it if you ask me.

In My Opinion:

Small Tip... Make Sure Your R/d WorkS Off 12 Volts... JUst Cause It Plugs Into Your Cigarette Lighter Doesnt Mean It Works Off 12... Read The Specs

Always Fuse... The Specs Will Tell You The Amp Draw

Never Use T-taps... Vibration Will Make Them Lose Contact Or They're Known To Sever Wires...
