By-pass dvd saftey system

my friend just bought a flip out dvd player and we are trying to figure out a way to be able to play dvds without having the e-brake on. anyone know how to do this?

ground the ebrake wire or connect it to the ebrake but tee in a ground wire on a switch so it functions normally for the popo to see.

not that it matters, but JSutter, that will not work on the newer models. they need to see a neg, then a pos, then a neg hold. or vice versa... cant remember, either way cant always do that.
