"meh" means it's marginal. Keep in mind you get what you pay for. If you're going to go for an in-dash unit with Navi (double or single-din) then your only proper choice is Eclipse. Anything less would be uncivilized.

I see. What would be a good brand after Eclipse for both the double-din and single-din? Cause I wouldn't mind getting it but for that price I can't take the hit unless I could get it for a really good cheap price.

You may have to consider sacrificing Nav. As cool as it would be, ask yourself if that is the primary reason for your upgrade, or whether you'd rather devote that money into getting better SOUND equipment.

We can't tell you what you can afford or what you will really use. What we CAN do is tell you whether what you want CAN be purchased within your budget, and if so, what your best/better options are.

Burnurass you bastard! lol. Only reason why I can't afford a Double-din w/ navi is the fact that I'm only 19/20 and still in college and working part times while most if not all of the people with navi is working and out of college.

Gimme an offer.... Depending on what don can get me and what price you give me... maybe you'll have your dream headunit.

Alright, well I decided that I'm not going to be headed towards the double-din HU due to the fact that navi will be something I will barely use and spending that much on something that I will barely use does not justify the cost of the HU. I will be going for the single-din HU instead. What are some really nice single-din decks out there? Could people name a few and the price? Don can you give me some prices on a really nice decks? Thanks everybody.

Eclipse or Alpine but it seems Alpine has gone down hill a little bit in looks. Sonys are starting to sound comparable but not quite on par yet. So I'd still go with Eclipse 3000 or 4000 they'll run you either 300 or 400 I think authorized.

Some good speakers would be cdt, diamond, image dynamics.
subs alpine type-r, diamond, image dynamics...
amps- alpine v power seem to be the best bang for you buck except maybe profile.

and for HU's, kenwoods are nice too. Easily a step below Eclipse and Nak and Alpine, but you can get some kenwood decks out there for next to nothing. I have the x590 and i love it. Look for ecplipse though, especially if you have 300+ to spend. you wont regret buying any of those

all of the eclipse decks are good, so whatever you are willing to pay should tell you which to get. I dont know any specifics on Don's pricing for these but for any budget you can get a quality deck. good choice

Hey phenryiv1,

I tried looking for Don's thread but I can't seem to find it. If you could show me the link that would be great. Also what do you guys think about the Infinity speakers with 6.5" components up front and 6.5" 3-ways for the rear?

again, meh.

you can do better than infinity for the price... if youre talking infinity reference/kappa comps I'd go with rainbow slc's through don in the same price range. rainbow also makes coaxials , the sl 165's i think (or am i mixing them up with diamond?) I havent heard the rainbow coaxials but I would assume theyd be a good option and a good match for the comps. i'd definately guess that theyre quite a bit better that infinity.
