Speaker recommendations?
Speaker recommendations?
I just bought a pioneer premier p8mp and now I'm looking to get rid of my stock speakers. I have a 97 with no bose. My budget is about 100 a pair. I currently have no amp and probably won't get one due to me street parking at my job overnights. I listen to rock, rap, and pop. I drive with my wife and kid most of the time so I can't go crazy with the volume. I'll consider components, but I know they'll sound bad without an amp so thats out of the question. Thanks for the input.

If your budget is 100$ a pair, then whats wrong with your current speakers? Like mike said just an opinion but you wont get much better than stock for that price unless you get em used. maybe try to pick up some bose stocks cheap they're not THAT bad
Thanks guys, didn't want to start a war here. I'm still using the stock non bose stuff, they're 10 years old...they've probably been degraded by the sun and heat.
I'm sure the 300 dollar speakers are nice, but isn't there an in between ground? Lolz.

That being said, Don sells a variety of product for any price range.
If the OP ends up going to ebay, thats fine, but there is no guarantees. i.e. who knows whether the product is fake, refurb, fell off a truck, stolen, whether youll have a warranty, etc etc. If you have been around forums to know enough, youd know that you can hardly trust anyone. Go ahead and buy from thezeb.com 2 years ago, probably one of, if not the biggest car audio website at the time. Up and closed one day, and fuked over hundreds of people. Go ahead and buy from IndoAudio, one of the largest and most well known ebay sellers as far as car audio, and ill bet theres a 50/50 shot your speakers will be fake. Personally...Ive installed a set of fake MB Quarts that were bought online, and I have a Kicker 150.2 sitting here bought online, broken out of the box, that I can do absolutely nothing with. Ebay isnt the end-all-be-all of car audio.
My advice to the OP...drive around to some local shops and take a listen. Average retail on most big brand coaxials these days is around 100 bones anyway, like Alpine/Infinity/Polk/all the mainstream crap. Listen to what you like the best. If you do decide to go with something in the higher end realm, there are higher end brands with entry level equipment. Rainbow soundline coaxials can he had for less than 150/pair, and DLS has some nice entry level stuff too.

The maturity level of this forum usually directly corresponds to the age posted below your name, but is apparently inverse in this case. Its an online forum, nobody is holding a gun to your head...so take it down a notch.

OKAY, who needs to take it down a notch??????
its okay he didnt like my opinion about the speakers or the place i suggested gettin them from... dont mind that at all, but he gave NO direction to the guy that asked for SUGGESTIONS. does the orginal poster even know who DON is? hmmm dont know... thats where i had a problem with that... there are MILLIONS of places to buy car audio from, i merely suggested one spot, and a few brands that fell within his price range.
i stand by my original statement in my first post.
I picked up some memphis speakers from an audio place near me. They were cheap only $80 a pair. They sound good with my pioneer premier 680 headunit. A lot better than my bose speakers did. Im also probably adding a memphis amp which is $250. Just another suggestion.
