Over the years, bass makes my bumper rattle

Alright, I've had 2 10s on 1000w in my Max for 5 years now and the rear bumper rattles a ton, enough to hear it inside. Real non-saucy. Anyone else had the same thing? I'm looking to find out how to stop the rattle before the bumper falls off

Seems like where the trunk lid touches the bumper is the main source of the bass transmission... Sheesh, I make everything rattle eventually

That sounds like a Don response if I've ever heard one, but I'm still in old loud trunked Impala town. And yes, my trunk lid is dynamatted and filled tight between the metal sheets with polyfill

Is the area right where the trunk lid and the latch deadened? Mine was doing that for a while and then I put some deadener there and it was love after that.

I did some checking and you know the 2 little black spacers that separate the lid from the bumper when you close it? I put some adhesived padding on them so that there's a much tighter seal between them. I figured bass was transmitting through those into the bumper. It does help a good bit, but I'm thinking of doing something from under the car on the bumper side of things.

My drivers lid release hasn't ever worked from inside the car, I always have to open it with a key. Probably a contributing factor somehow. Nor does my manual "kidnapped and trapped in the trunk" release work.

Come on Don, it's been a while since I was 'active' on the boards so it was like old times to have a funny Don response.

I know the feeling of trunk rattle syndrome. Mine is pretty bad as well. My trunk release button doesn't work from inside the car either. My subs actually broke the rivets for the latch part of the trunk, off of the car. I have also lost some emblems from my badges in the back as well. My trunk flexes a good inch if you are looking at it from the back. I need to find out how to quiet down my roof as well because it looks like tidal waves are in it. I'm probably getting bout an inch of flex in my roof too. The sound is like someone is flapping two thin aluminum sheets together. Ive tried some sound deadning material but all it has done is just quiet down the problem for a little bit them something else starts rattling.
