pic of my new AVN

Purchased the Eclipse AVN6610BT from DON.

I have to remount it because it sits too flush with the bottom so I can't eject any discs.....

First went with the AVN5435

Then the AVN6600

Now the AVN6610BT

Screen is def. noticeably bigger.
still having issues with the bluetooth not outputting any sound at all. Has anyone else installed this headunit with the bluetooth kit yet?

Menu's are a little bit different....but pretty much almost the same as the previous ones...the MAIN this is the nice lower price.

Unit looks great. I am envious.

Probably old news, but are those RCA inputs on the side of your center stack? Nice touch.

PRETTY much the way it works ..the parrot kit intercepts the speaker outs on the headunit. The way it's PLUG AND PLAY on eclipse is it has a male wiring harness and female on the other side..and you plug in the eclipse headunit wiring into that. The telemute is included in that harness so EVERYTHING is hooked...just don't know why it's not giving me any sound. Hopefully next time I see don he can see what kinda noobcakes mistake i made.

Your not the only one who can't get the bluetooth to work. I have the AVN5510 and I can pair it with my phone and it mutes when I send or receive calls but no sound. I can't figure whats wrong if you figure this out soon could you let me know. Also I thought we would be able to have some of the bluetooth features on the screen I guess not.

no it just mutes the avn. This weeekend I'll have to hook up some speakers to the speaker outs on the front (the rears are hooked up already) and see what's going on. IF that's the gay....major gheyness...

I got the Avn 6610 also from Don, great unit, but yes it was a little disappointing, we have to install a speaker just for the phone. Maybe eclipse can have an updated software to fix this?

Unfortunately that would be a hardware upgrade since it intercepts through the high levels.

well I had emailed tech support...
Here's what I wrote to them:
I installed everything the way it says in the manual but I do not get ANY sound out of the bluetooth unit. When I hit the **** it is supposed to say "LANGUAGE". It does mute the headunit correctly but no sound comes out of it.

Here's my setup to get you to fully understand the problem.
I have the front rca outputs run to my amplifier to my Processor, which sends two sets of rca signals to my 4channel amp. The 4channel amp is powering my front stage "bridged".
I am running my rear speakers off the headunit (rear speaker out). The Subwoofer is running off the subwoofer rca output directly to the subwoofer amp. I get FULL sound out of the speakers using the headunit in fm/cd/mp3/cd changer AND I get full sound when using the navigation.

What did I do wrong? DO I NEED to hook up a set of speakers to the headunit FRONT speaker line outputs? (grey/white wires).
Their response:
Hello,

You should run the phone audio through the back speakers since they are not amped. The Parrot adapter has a little amp that cannot be in line with a powerful amp because the input voltage would be to high and blow out the inputs on the little amp. Run the back speakers like normal, through the parrot adapter using the mute wire.
Well...there's the answer as to why I don't get sound through the amped speakers...

Really a nice setup dude. How accurate is the nav system, and did you notice any measurable difference between any of the three (navigation accuracy)?

Don, is Eclipse offering an updated HDD-based nav, other than the AVN-7000?

avn5495 is HDD-based that has been out for almost 2 years. Why do you want a hard drive based unit? the way the avn6600/avn6610 is setup it won't interfere with any of your music/dvd watching.

The navi is VERY accurate....better than the AVIC-N1 I had. The new 6610 has a 3d road feature when a turn is coming up...it's dead accurate down to the number of lanes and what lanes split off the highway.

That's pretty good accuracy then. The only reason I was looking into a HDD-based unit is just to be able to save music to it. I suppose that MP3 cds are enough though. I just hate having the stock blose and switching cds all the time (as well as trying to keep track of all of them).

CD Changer + mp3 CDs ftw.

For the HDD units, from what I read you have to rip actual cds..it doesn't rip from .mp3 format. Don, have any insight to this?
