PSP Car Entertainment installed in my '97. Pics!

Man, I am finally done with this, been working on it for a while. SO far I have done:

Custom AUX input using a Kenwood Cbus adapter for my Clarion HU
Custom mounting brackets for PSP
Install, and pics!

I hope to get an amp for graduation, so that is coming next.

Here's the work!

Modding the Kenwood Cbus to AUX adapter to make it work for my Clarion Headunit.

The wiring configuration paper with changes made.

Powering the PSP if it dies VIA car charger, the cig lighter is now below the shifter.

Custom install brackets with heatshrink to protect the PSP

Switch to go from AUX input back to FM/AM/cd

On to the next post...

Ha! That looks pretty good. You're getting me motivated to hook up the AUX input on my DDX7015 to my PSP.

Overall, it was worth it. It took me about a month to find the right info on the Cbus adapter, granted I only worked for maybe about 6 hours on it. It took so long because the male plug wires were arranged for a Kenwood Cbus input, not a clarion. So I had to find the color of the wire, find its function(according to the Kenwood diagram) then move the male pin to the right Clarion pin number. Then I had to make the switch for Aux to radio. But other than that, the rest was smooth. Took me about 2 hours to think up and make the mounting brackets and get them to fit, overall, probably about 10-12 hours of work over a 2 month period.

That's great! I knew I wasnt the only one to want to take a portable game player that had MP3 and Video capability and install in a car.

Grant it, mine wasnt as involved and only took about 30 mins to do, but it worked and was cool to see in operation.

Great job! If I can figure out a better mounting location in my '02 SE, I might still set this GBA SP up right.

Wow! I've been planning on doing the PSP thing for awhile now. It looks good, is the car charger something that you can buy or did you have to make it? Is the audio clear coming out of the PSP? Also where did you snag your mounts? Thanks in advance for the info.

that does look nice. i like how the shape of the psp echoes the shape of the head unit. is it actually stable while driving, though?
