Thoughts and comments on Audio Setup

Im planning on replacing my Stock audio setup in my 2002 Maxima, and just wanted to know what you guys thought of my plan. This is my first time working with high powered audio equipment, and I just want to make sure that i have things set right and paired-up correctly.

Headunit.........Avic Z1
Front Stage.....Rainbow SLC265 (4Ohm)
Rear Co-ax......Rainbow SL165 (4Ohm)
Sub................Flatline 12D2 (wired for 1 Ohm)

I want to power the interior speakers using an FD4150
The Sub would be powered by a FD1200.1 @ 1Ohm

What do you guys think? Any recommendations, thoughts?

I already deadened the trunk just waiting to pop open the doors for the speakers to deaden the doors.

Thanks I read some of the stickies on here they helped a lot!

So there shouldnt be any problems with wiring these amps with the speakers correct? I was kinda worried about the FD4150 and the wiring for the Front and rear speakers.

As long as you know what you're doing, you won't have any problems. The amp will be fine for the speakers.

Well it'll be my first Audio install but from what ive been reading up on... I believe I can just wire each of the speakers into an individual channel of the amp... straight forward right? I'll probably get someone around town who knows his stuff to watch over....just in case.

The Sub i know i will have to wire in parallel to get it to 1 Ohm and I will have to bridge the amp correct?

Thanks once again guys for the help.

mmmm pricey tastes you have. but you will be getting it done right the first time, which is always great!

It should sound awesome - my only thing would be if im going to go with that high end stuff, might as well go for Rainbow Germaniums over the SLCs..

Whats better on the AVN 6610 than on the Z1? I keep trying to compare them but... seems like the Avic has more features... Backgorund changing... Voice recognition.. i dont know how good the iPod controls on the unit might be, but the Navi also looks a bit better. Are the iPod controls and Navi on the 6610 better than on the Z1? The Eclipse probably has better audio adjustments I bet. Anything else I should know about the 6610? I havent bought the HU yet so I can still pick and choose.

But the Germs aren't 3-way, meaning they don't have midbass, meaning you'll be lacking bass up front. Am I wrong?

Absolutely wrong.

2 way comps have a midbass and a tweeter. 3 way comps have a dedicated midrange along with the midbass and tweeter instead of the mid's and tweets covering those frequencies.

WOW... you are wrong. So you're saying if I run Nobellium 8.2's I won't have bass up front? I beg to differ...

my germs play 40hz notes just fine...the midbass will easily be there. A few orgers can verify this too.

So if 3-ways are better than 2-ways, why even bother getting a 2-way setup?

Where do you get his phone number from? I would love to get a Headunit as soon as possible...

Not sure how much the 3 way Rainbows are but im pretty sure they are pretty expensive. Also wouldnt you have to do some sort of custom install for the 3 way component set as it comes with 3 separate speakers and the doors only have a spot for the 6.5 inch woofer and the tweeter?

The DLS 3-ways aren't that expensive-the Iridiums I think are around 700-800$. Don can do 3-way installs with no problem--he's gonna install Iridium 6.3s in my car soon.
