More importantly, where is the screen? I hope the screen is BEHIND you, on the parcel shelf, because you certainly don't want to be looking forward while you were driving backwards.

I haven't seen the infared personally but I was told that they aren't that good for this application. I have just the basic "bullet" camera. They're all over EBAY: (this one under $20)

They can't pry it out nor use the lock (because it's not there) to break in.
